Teaselwood Design was founded on the belief that mountain living is not something to be interpreted—it is something to be understood and lived. Rooted in Vermont and shaped by decades of experience, our work reflects a deep respect for place, craft, and the way homes are meant to be lived in across seasons and generations.
We create calm, enduring interiors for mountain homes—spaces that feel grounded in their landscape, thoughtful in their details, and timeless in their expression.
At Teaselwood, design begins with intention and a deep understanding of environment. Our work honors the past while supporting the realities of modern mountain living, creating homes that feel both timeless and deeply personal.
We value timeless quality over fleeting trends, and craftsmanship over excess. Every decision—material, proportion, and finish—is made with care, ensuring each home feels cohesive, grounded, and authentic to its setting. Through a calm, highly guided process, we steward each project from vision through execution, creating spaces that grow more meaningful with time
Meet
With more than two decades of experience in interior design and an NCIDQ certification—the industry’s highest professional credential—Charity has built her career at the intersection of design vision, construction expertise, and mountain living. A graduate of Marymount College with a Bachelors in Interior Design, she knew as early as seventh grade that she would become an interior designer, drawn to the balance of artistry and structure that defines the profession. Her work today reflects that lifelong clarity: thoughtful, enduring homes rooted in proportion, craftsmanship, and place.
Raised in Central New York in a historic 1800s farmhouse, Charity developed an early appreciation for heritage architecture and the way materials age with integrity. Her connection to the mountains deepened while living and working in Steamboat Springs, Colorado, where she designed and built a timber-frame spec home from the ground up—an experience that sharpened her understanding of structure, scale, and execution. That hands-on knowledge continues to shape her approach, allowing her to lead projects with fluency in both design and construction. Whether collaborating with builders or guiding clients through full renovations, she serves as a steady, experienced liaison from concept through completion.
Charity’s work is defined by a reverence for mountain living—not as an aesthetic, but as a way of life.
She specializes in generational homes that are crafted for longevity and connection, spaces designed to welcome family across seasons and decades. Her ability to balance architectural strength with refined warmth has made her a trusted expert in Vermont and beyond, particularly for clients seeking homes that feel both grounded and elevated.
Outside the studio, Charity’s life reflects the very landscapes that inspire her work. Weekends are spent skiing, hiking, and paddle boarding with her family, often accompanied by their three border collies. Together with her husband, she has restored multiple historic properties—thoughtfully reviving broken houses into meaningful homes, including a 1790s Vermont timber frame once divided into three apartments and their current 1890s residence, which they stripped to the studs and brought back to life.
For Charity, design is not simply a profession—it is a lived practice of stewardship, creativity, and enduring love for the mountains.
