A Glimpse into Teaselwood Design's Interior Design Process

If you're thinking about hiring an interior designer for your home, you're probably wondering what the process will be like. At Teaselwood Design, we strive to make the process effortless and enjoyable for our clients. As experts in the interior design and construction industry, we will guide you through conceptual iterations, design presentations, installations, and construction every step of the way.

In this blog post, we'll give you a glimpse into our interior design process, including the consultation, onboarding, design phase and presentation, construction and procurement, and installation.

Interior Design Process Step One: Consultation

At Teaselwood Design, our interior design journey commences with a one-hour consultation, either in-person or virtual. This session serves as an opportunity to understand you and your design aspirations. Through thoughtful inquiries about your lifestyle, objectives, and design preferences, we aim to define the project's scope, timeline, and budget tailored to your requirements. Following this initial interaction, interested clients receive a comprehensive proposal outlining our services and fees. Recognizing the uniqueness of each client, we are dedicated to crafting a personalized experience for all.

Interior Design Process Step Two: Onboarding

Once you have been welcomed into the Teaselwood family, we'll arrange a kick-off meeting to delve deeper into the project scope. During this session, we'll explore your preferred style and address any specific requests you may have. This is an opportune moment for you to ask questions and express any concerns. Our objective is to establish a shared understanding before progressing to the design phase, ensuring alignment and clarity among all parties involved.

Interior Design Process Step Three: Design & Design Presentation

In the subsequent stage of our interior design process, the magic unfolds during the design phase. Drawing inspiration from your style and preferences, we craft a design using samples, floor plans, elevations, renderings, and elements that narrate the story of the space. Every detail, from color schemes to lighting, is meticulously considered, aiming for a cohesive and beautiful final result. Our pride lies in the capacity to generate distinctive designs that authentically mirror our clients' personalities and fulfill their needs.

Interior Design Process Step Five: Proposal

Following the design presentation, we furnish you with a comprehensive proposal that meticulously outlines all the elements that had been approved in the design presentation.  This proposal allows you to review and approve the items. Additionally, the proposal includes a transparent breakdown of fees and any supplementary costs associated with the project. We ensure a clear understanding of the financial aspects of the project prior to being signed off. We prioritize open communication to build trust with our clients.

Interior Design Process Step Six: Construction, Non Construction Projects and Procurement

For projects involving construction, our dedicated in-house Project management team and construction team takes charge. This includes navigating the approval process, sourcing materials from our trusted vendors and suppliers, scheduling trades, monitoring timelines and budgets, and overseeing all aspects of progress and communication.  Acting as the vigilant eyes on the project, we ensure that the envisioned design is implemented precisely. Our team serves as a valuable resource for troubleshooting and addressing issues proactively before bringing them to the client. Throughout this stage of our interior design process, you can expect regular updates through weekly status reports, keeping you informed about the progress of the construction.

In instances where our projects involve an external General Contractor (GC), we equip the outside team with a comprehensive Spec book. This detailed resource ensures the accurate execution of the project in alignment with the design intent. Additionally, our Project Management team can be incorporated, facilitating weekly walkthroughs to provide updates and troubleshoot any on-site challenges that may arise. This collaborative approach ensures seamless communication and coordination, fostering a cohesive and successful implementation of the design vision.

Interior Design Process Step Seven: Installation

Finally, it's time to bring the design to life! We'll handle all the logistics of the installation, including the placement of furniture and decor. On installation day, we gather all our equipment bags and spreadsheets. Our team meets with the receiver on-site and guides them on item placement, assembly, and hanging. We'll make sure that everything is perfect before unveiling the final result to you. Our goal is to create a space that you'll love and enjoy for years to come.

At Teaselwood Design, we hold the belief that everyone deserves a thoughtfully designed space that authentically mirrors their personality and tastes. Our interior design process is crafted to be seamless and enjoyable for our clients, spanning from the initial consultation to the final installation.
